Nvidia had 34 percent of China's market for data-center AI chips in the first half of 2026, and Huawei had 28 percent, according to an IDC report seen by Reuters. U.S. News published the Reuters story. The dateline is Beijing, October 13.

IDC counted 678,000 Nvidia accelerators shipped in China from January through June, down 44 percent from a year earlier. Huawei shipped 572,000, up from more than 300,000 a year earlier. Reuters said IDC did not specify which Nvidia products made up the 34 percent, including whether barred chips such as the B200 and B300 were in the count.

  • Alibaba's T-Head held 7 percent.
  • Cambricon held 5 percent.
  • Baidu's Kunlunxin held 4 percent.
  • Hygon held 3 percent.

Total accelerator shipments in the half were 2.008 million units, IDC said. Shipments of graphics processors, the chips most often used to train models, fell 26 percent to 991,000.
