OpenAI alleged in a court filing on October 14 that a former employee who left for Apple sent more than 100 confidential files about at least one unreleased device to personal accounts. The Wall Street Journal reported that the files included detailed images and engineering and manufacturing data. This story does not name him. The reports do not.
OpenAI alleged that he later presented its product plans to senior Apple leadership. The Journal reported that the filing is part of a lawsuit Apple brought against OpenAI in July, in which Apple claimed its own confidential material had been taken by people who left for OpenAI. These are allegations in a filing, not a ruling.
