A trend piece has to say what changed, who published the change, and what is still unknown. This file is the checklist, not the change.

Labs ship model updates faster than most teams can evaluate them. That is a reason to be careful, not a statistic. A trend story here will not open with a market size this desk did not measure.
The minimum a real trend story needs
- The primary post, changelog, or paper, linked.
- The date on that source, which may not be the date we published.
- What the publisher says changed, in our words, without a fresh quote we do not have.
- Who it is for, and who should ignore it.
- What we could not check.
If the only support is another news site's recap, the story waits. If a number appears, it appears because the source stated it, and the source is linked. This sample states no such number.
